Gourd Animal Ornaments

I almost forgot that I wanted to post phots of these ornaments that I just finished. These little gourds were of really strange shapes. What to do with them. This is what I came up with. They are all about 5-6 inches tall.

New Pieces

I've been a little busy with me gourds lately. I'm trying to get as much done as I can before we beging lambing. I'm not sure how much time I'm going to have after that.
These first photos are of a sculpted gourd Santa, of course, then my little garden Urchin, and a Witch called Bella.
I really like doing the gourds. They don't take near the time as an art doll or a full body sculpt.

Gourd Santa Ornaments

Well, you can see what I've been working on. I'm trying to get as much done as possible between now and lambing time. I imagine I'll have the men to cook for again this year so I won't have just lots of time to play.
These are pretty fun to do.

Ornaments

I just finished these Victorian ornaments this afternoon. They are really embellished egg gourds. Amazing what you can do with gourds. Fun stuff. Anyway, I sort of liked them after they were done. The photos don't really do them justice. I painted the flowers on the gourds, then covered them with irridescent mini beads and embellishments.

I'm Back!!

My poor ol' hubby has had to have some surgeries and has not been really well for a while now. With that and helping out on the ranch I couldn't keep up with my blog here so I deleted it. Shuckydarn ! I shouldn't have done that. Now I've got to start all over again. Anyway, Ive uploaded some of my work but there is much much more. You can see my work on my website at http://www.snicolasoriginals.com/ These are my new passion. They are sculpted natural gourds. Fun to do and not nearly as involved as the figurative pieces. The faces are done with polymer clays. The bearding and embellishments are done with Apoxi Sculpt. Fun stuff that Apoxi Sculpt. They've been sealed so they can be placed out of doors.

Characters and Santas

The gent in the tub is Slim. Then Bubba, and The Sheepman. These are my Ranch Hands.

This Santa is Victorian Gold. I really liked his face.

Then there is a Medieval Father Frost, and my Western Santa, Christmas Goose. These ar just a few but there are many many more figuratives on my website.
